I think the media is portraying it as a ‘hispter’ movement. Just the other day, I got into a heated discussion w my father, who is a staunch Conservative (we’re Canadian). He was calling the protestors a bunch of ‘homeless hippies’. I was explaining what you just said, however, at the exact same moment, the news panned to a shot of a girl twirling around throwing leaves around and chanting incoherently while a bunch of grungy looking guys were banging on bongo drums lol, so it kinda ruined the very point you just made.
