Man. My 2-year old has watched the cartoon version of The Venom Saga so many times, I feel like I'd rather stab myself in the throat than watch the movie version. One of the worst parts of that cartoon is when Cassidy tells Eddie Brock "I'll eat you for breakfast, man" and Eddie replies "I'd give you indigestion.................man". I responded by hysterically laughing while saying "God!! Someone kill me now!!"

I'm not sure if this picture is a joke or not, but that's not Spiderman's black costume. Although this post alone identifies me as a former (and possibly present) comic-book geek, I read pretty much every comic involving the suit, from when he first got it in the 12-issue limited series (it may have been issue #5 or #8), and it looked nothing like this. In fact, it looked NOTHING like his old costume. It wasn't merely the former web lines shaded black. It was ALL black except for the white symbol in the middle. If they (producers, directors, whoever) are intending this to be Spiderman in the black costume, they failed miserably.

It looks to me like it's simply a black and white poster. It's exactly the same costume as before. And as stated previously, it's been no secret that Venom would be in this one, as is Sandman and Dr. Connors (for those that don't know, Dr. Connors becomes the Lizard). Now that I've solidified my nerd standing, I'm going to follow the guidence of our writer and wash the taste out of my mouth.

Well the costume has a long comic book history even before Venom gets to use it. There wouldn't be enough time to introduce Peter Parker's and Venom's relationship, introduce the costume, go through the drama of Spiderman finding out it's real nature, have Spiderman get rid of it and Venom get it... THEN have Spiderman confront Venom. Spiderman will probably face a different adversary in the 3rd movie, with elements of Venom introduced to set up the 4th movie.

That's a common theory. Another one is that they're basing it off the Ultimate Spiderman storyline, which means, the black suit will be made in a lab, Eddie Brock is a skinny nerdy kid....like Parker and it's going to make about as much sense as Mary-Kate & Ashley becoming competitive eaters.
