Brittany Murphy takes up singing
Since she's not doing so much acting anymore, Brittany Murphy is apparently set to release a music album.
Murphy warbles on the single "Faster Pussycat" on superstar deejay Paul Oakenfold's album due out in April, and friends say she wants to record her own disc next. Murphy - who left the ICM agency last month and also got engaged to production assistant Joe Macaluso - is now being repped by Endeavor for acting, and oddly enough, by her former fiancé, Jeff Kwatinetz, for music.
I've never heard her sing, but I can't imagine it would be any good considering the way she talks. That raspy hoarse voice might be useful when you want to convince people you've been smoking cigarettes every single day of your life, but maybe not so much for the singing. Unless the album is just a recording of her coughing and wheezing and doing impressions of people with lung cancer.

I heard her sing briefly on some show( can't remember the name) and also really briefly in Clueless and she's actually pretty decent( I use that term loosely) still, I don't think I wanna see Brittany "I'm hyper all the time because I'm bubbly not because of the snow clogging up my nasal passage" Murphy on stage anytime soon.

OMG - awesome singing voice, suprisingly. She sang on Little Black Book and maybe on SNL?

First track on the album will be Popozao (B-Murph Remix).

Why can't any of them just be happy to be T&A in movies?

I read somewhere (a long time ago) that she's done some singing on some rap tracks or something.

Well if KFed and Paris can produce music why can't the rest of them you know? Nothing can be as bad as Popozao.

If she sings good, then fine. But, why is this the new fad for actors?

my guess is that she'll want to sing pop. Sicne pop sucks, i'm sure her music will suck ^_^

I sure it would be WAY better then K-Tard's Pop-a-Zit.

CoJo-
"OMG - awesome singing voice, suprisingly. She sang on Little Black Book and maybe on SNL?"
I agree, she does have an incredible voice though I must admit Gwenyth Paltrow(sp?)is better.

I'm not a fan, but her voice is fantastic. It's clear, pure, and very powerful. However, it's much better suited for Broadway than for pop music. If she would do Broadway musicals, she would be a huge star, but I don't know about how her film career will go. Singing is a good move for her. What about all of her plastic surgery?

Didn't she do that movie with Eminem? She's got an in on the rap scene, can't you see her loaded up with a big ass $ chain and fur coat rolling in an Escalade? This'll be a piece of cake for her.

She went to my dance school...
She left to go to California right before I started there, but they used to play videos of her singing at the recitals. She can sing well, even as a child. I wish her luck.

Instead of singing, she should take up parachute-less skydiving or strap-yourself-to-a-stationary-pole bullfighting. That would be great.

DUH, it's called the auto-tune pitch correcting tool, professional sound engineers, a big expensive studio full of magical "make you sound good" buttons, creative punch-in punch-out sound editing, and layers upon layers upon layers of harmonized vocal tracks. Anyone can sound like beautiful liquid gold sunshine, you just need the money and the right equipment. Have you ever heard Avril sing live? She's hoarse and flat and completely tone deaf.

I've heard her sing before and (surprisingly), she CAN sing...

She also sang a few bars in Cluelss....just those few seconds tell a person that she's got a lovely voice.

Some humans, no matter how ridiculous they look or behave, have a DNA sequence that permits talent across several disciplines. Miss Murphy may be so blessed. What upsets this observer is celebrities' sense of entitlement, along the lines of, "Hey, I made some movies. Now I think I'll be a singer. Or a fashion designer. Or create a fragrance called Frivolity. I have a built-in infrastructure that will allow me to make that leap successfully."
These people with the false sense of biological imperative have, through the sweat of their own brow (and perhaps talent), created mechanisms for their own proliferation into all facets of popular culture. When people are corporations unto themselves, it can only be thus.
This observer does not doubt that Miss Murphy and many of her peers are talented singers. It's only that the type of music they choose to sing is subhuman rumblings more suited to the unforgiving intergalactic conditions where white noise reigns than music-playing devices of the general populace. Why must we suffer while they publicly apply a salve to their own egos?
If Miss Murphy sings along the lines of "He's My Baby" or "People Just Don't Understand What I'm Going Through" or "I Am Pronouns, Including the Possessive Ones," then I say it's time for the U.S. government to reinstate Executive Order 9066 (updated to suit the parameters of the clear and present danger illuminated herein).

Brittany has an AMAZING voice. She sounds like a soultry, sexy jazz club singer. She also can pull off Janice Joplin like no other.

I don't care if she can sing, so can lots of people, SHE'S SO ANNOYING I just wish she would go away already.

She sings a few lines in "Riding In Cars With Boys" and she's, amazingly, very damn good. I can easily see a transition to music. Hell, anything is better than Jennifer Lopez.

Her voice is Phenomenal....
I heard her on t.v. for lke a few seconds, and immediately went on limewire HOPING he already had a few songs out like most trashy actress-gone singers. But all I could find was a lil clip from Little Black Book, and immediately, I loved it. To be honest, she sings that song better than the original singer LOL she has this sultry Indie Arie, Nancy Sinatra, thing going on... its aMAAAzing i really hoped she'd start singing, who knew she would?! im so happy. She's still really annoyin, but thankfully, you wont have to look at her while lisening to the CD.. ;)
