Dave Chappelle sued by former manager
Dave Chappelle's break from reality is coming back to bite him in the ass. The comedian's former manager is suing to get some of the money he helped Dave earn, before he decided to run off to South Africa and eat lemur pellets, bathe in the blood of slaughtered colonists and generally turn into another maladjusted celebrity with no concept of the real world.
But after Chappelle returned from his unannounced spiritual retreat to South Africa last June, he told Abuelhija that his services would no longer be needed and dismissed him with only a "paltry $40,000 as an 'advance' against the sum" that Abuelhija claimed he was owed, per the complaint.
I would be pretty bent out of shape too if I got dumped at the drop of a hat for a guy who was the tribal witchdoctor a week earlier. Don't get me wrong Chappelle is a funny guy, but seriously, try to treat the help a little better than that.

What the hell...spiritual retreat? Here's a spiritual retreat for you; going to Las Vegas and losing all your money, how's that for a spiritual retreat. Because after becoming one of the funniest guys in America for about two or so years, he doesn't have $40k? Then maybe the manager was dumped for a reason.

You're expecting celebrities to clean up the worlds problems? you're going to wait for eternity. Blame said countries respective governments.
Celebrities can be very wealthy and egotistical but can't cure aids or other worldy diseases with their own stash, lol

I’m proud to be south African – so glad that my country can be a spiritual retreat for lost celebrities with too much money trying to find their roots. I’m also so glad these celebrities did nothing about apartheid and continue to do nothing about HIV/AIDS. Thanks dave, come milk my economy any day!

Dave Chappelle wasn't on a spiritual retreat, he stayed with friends who happen to live in South Africa. And his former manager is probably looking to make a quick buck. I love how naive some people are; just b/c someone makes an accusation doesn't mean its true

"Dave Chappelle wasn't on a spiritual retreat..."
You're right he was on drugs and skipped out on a JOB that he was paid gargantuan sums of money to do. And he couldn't even do that. If anyone should be suing nutty-boy, it's Comedy Central.
I mean Chappelle keeps millions he didn't earn and the family of that kid from "The Daily Worker Show" that killed himself will get bupkiss.

Hey why don't you get a 50 million dollar contract to do your own show. Thats right, you can't cause your an unfunny bastard. Also theres a reason why that nobody from the daily show didnt get paid the sum of money that DC does, you know why? B/c Dave Chappelle has scary talent, and the most exciting thing that PA did was get extra foam on Jon Stewart's latte. What are you, some kind of commie, we should all get the same amount of money no matter how little or how much talent we have?

So are you saying just because some moron decides to go blow his brains on the floor that his family needs to be compensated? I would hope not, because that was his own stupidity and HE alone decided to kill himself. Which was probably a stupid idea considering working on the Daily Show would probably be an awesome job. But other than that, Dave C. one drugs? Weed yeah I know he was but weed won't make you travel for a spiritual retreat. Hollywood and all that Bullshit will. Dave C. only makes fun of crack heads and shit...why would he all of a sudden get on the shit?

I don't care what he did or what he does - the most disappointing thing to happen to me all year was losing Dave from TV - he is GREAT and very missed!!

I gotta stop reading this site. You guys are starting to make me hate all my favorite celebs. :(

I assume that the guy blew his brains out because he was about to expose the racism on "The Daily Worker Show" that leads them to shout from the rooftops how "liberal" they are and yet hire no black people. So, yeah Comedy Central owes the family.
Oh, and if you don't already hate celebs, then you need more of this site, not less. Seriously, 10 minutes here make you smarter than 22 minutes with pompous idiots like Brian Williams.

I just read all of the posts and I have to say I am surprised and astonished. You all act as though you have never heard of a black man not working.

Just an opinion but I think Dave ran out of ideas. He'd rather wait and come up with something funny that to put out shit. Now as far as the money he oews his manager we don't know what really went down. That guy could be full of shit.
