Angelina Jolie wasn’t knocked up with twins by way of Brad Pitt’s penis. Instead, she went with in vitro fertilization because nobody puts Angelina in a corner, not even nature! Unless nature looks like Billy Bob Thornton then maybe. Us Weekly reports:
“They conceived through in vitro fertilization,” a well-placed source within their camp tells Us. “They both desperately wanted more babies soon.”
The chance of having fraternal twins at Angelina’s age (33) naturally is under 1 percent; with in vitro, the chances are 25 percent.
The actress chose the procedure (which can cost around $12,000 a pop) so “she wouldn’t have to deal with the stress of trying to get pregnant,” the source tells Us. “She could just knock it out.”

Who cares how they had their babies? Fertility is a HUGE deal. Some people go through years of trying and it’s emotionally devistating. If you can afford IVF, etc, great. Go for it.

So, was Pitt the infertile one in the Pitt-Aniston marriage?. Thus the rush to prove he wanted kids by finding a woman who would put herself through artificial means to get pregnant for him. Afterall, Jolie did say that she took hormones to get pregnant faster with Shiloh. Why would a young woman with no fertility issues need to use those drugs to get pregnant. Could it be that the male sperm being used is not up to par?.
Maybe Aniston can have kids but, these powerful hormones were too destructive for her body. These hormones used to allow invitro to work are quite strong.

I am a physician and I don’t treat Angelina. That said most of the celebs who have twins are either doing in vitro or taking medication that assists women in getting pregnant.
The odds of having twins otherwise is not that common. In hollywood the women are having children at a much older age
( as do other “professional women” ) and they take this oral treatment or more serious.. in vitro. The intention is for only 1 child
1) oral- make it so that the odds of the egg and sperm will divide into two greater.
2) invitro they actually insert more and hope that 1 survives. Since they implant much more than 1 , sometimes more than 1 implants and grows.
In these treatments it’s common to have twins triplets etc
There was not a doubt in my mind they did either the oral pills or this treatment. But 33 ISN’T that old that she couldn’t on her own doesn’t usually happen until 35-40+.
Angelina couldn’t get pregnant because she’s a heroin addict and was too thin to ovulate. Fraternal twins happen very rarely to people trying to conceive naturally… but throw in a little clomid and your chances move up to 25%. I don’t see why everyone thinks using reproductive technology is something to be ashamed of… just coming out and saying “I used IVF”… why would that be so wrong?
#41 Yes, for the regular population, Invitro is a last resort for those who CANNOT otherwise conceive. But from the sounds of the “source” here, if we are to believe it, that wasn’t Jolie’s motivation for the IVF.
Sounds to me it was more she just didn’t want to have to screw around (pun intended) with having to TRY to get pregnant naturally.

pretty funny that they just announced that twins run in Brads family. Well so what does that have to do with Angie having fraternal twins? duh, She layed two eggs. Brad’s genes had nothing to do with that.

If you are going through fertility tx, it is hard for no one to know. You feel, look and act pregnant the whole time. This even includes some weight gain and nausea/vomiting. Angelina and Brad still say that they did not have invitro…..that does not mean fertility treatments. I believe them. They could have taken Clomid or had artificial insemination and that would not be invitro. It still wouldn’t let them know if they were going to have 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 babies or the sex of the babies. So, they would be telling the truth if you read between the lines.
Natural is good. You can have a child naturally and then have problems conceiving the next time. When age starts creeping up on women, we are told that the incidences of miscarriages and birth defects are more common. We get scared and want to get pregnant now….it doesn’t always occur that way for all of us the 2nd time. And we are not alone as three other women on my block have had the same thing happen as me and Angelina.

If that doesn’t work…….Artificial Insemination—bring your man or buy another man’s sperm from the clinic or internet and the lab spins it into usable sperm. They take a long tube of sperm into the uterus with no anesthesia (Experienced surrogate mothers now do this at home). If that don’t work after 3 attempts, then invitro….. they take the woman’s eggs out (or you buy another woman’s egss if yours aren’t good) and fertilize them with the sperm in a petri-dish in the lab. Once fertilized, they are placed back into the woman. Very expensive!!! Extra eggs are saved and extra eggs are planted b/c of time, expenses and a good chance that it won’t work===but the MD and the hospital get to keep all of the money. You leave with no guarantee or waranty!!

They all go through the same stages together or nearby. It also cuts down on the chances of birth defects at a later age. If you are going to change a shitty diaper….why not change two???
