Clever and adventurous? Wow. I hate to be the one to break it to Amanda Seyfried, but I guarantee you that’s not what any man is thinking at that moment. Unless it’s me, then I’m totally thinking all that stuff she just said. What was it again? Right, cleavage and adverbs.

You don’t understand Hollywood.
Political correctness means you can’t call someone ugly who is actually ugly, or laugh at fat jokes, old people, etc.
So if you want to make fun of stuff like that you take a hot chick and call her ugly, or put a skinny guy/gal in a fat suit, or make up a young person in old makeup…then you can make all the fun you want and it’s ok.
It’s kind of breaks down when you want to make racist jokes, so you put a white guy in minstrel show makeup. That one still doesn’t fly.

I’m pretty sure that the difference between acting and pretending is that when you act, you’re trying to be someone else. When you pretend, you’re still you, but you’re pretending something is true that’s not necessarily……….like you pretend that you’re exceptionally clever and adventurous, as opposed to acting like someone you think IS exceptionally clever and adventurous. You own it more that way………
